 Micro-Entrepreneurship Development Program (MEDP)

Empowering Women through NABARD-Supported MEDP Initiatives

Since 2014, Gaon Gathana Samiti has been actively implementing various Micro Enterprise Development Programmes (MEDPs) with support from NABARD in the districts of Cuttack and Jajpur, Odisha. These initiatives are specifically designed to empower Self-Help Group (SHG) women members, enabling them to become self-reliant and financially independent.

Our MEDP training programs focus on skill-building in a range of sustainable livelihood activities, including:

  • Tailoring and Stitching
  • Mushroom Cultivation
  • Food Processing and Preservation
  • Value Addition of Local Produce
  • Backyard Poultry

Through these capacity-building efforts, hundreds of rural women have been equipped with practical skills, entrepreneurial knowledge, and post-training support to initiate and manage their own income-generating units. The positive impact of these programs is evident in the improved socio-economic conditions of many SHG families across the region. Gaon Gathana Samiti remains committed to advancing rural livelihoods, fostering women’s entrepreneurship, and building resilient communities through skill-based interventions in partnership with NABARD.
